SMENU SEURAA: Artemis II palaa maahan ensiyönä

SOMEUUTISET SEURAA. Seuranta päättyy kello 4.00 aamuyöstä (UTC+3). SMENU:n päätoimittaja Matias Polku, 14, seuraa Artemis II-aluksen matkaa kohti maata noin kello 1.00 asti. Tämän jälkeen SMENU:n toimittajan Jalmari Vallin pitäisi tulla ottaa koppia, mutta SMENU on varmuudenvuoksi laittanut oman botin (robotin) tekemään tilannekatsausta useista eri uutislähteistä aikavälillä 1.00-4.00. SMENU:n käyttämä botti poimii noin 10 minuutin välein uutisia useista eri lähteistä ja tekee niiden pohjalta tilannekatsauksen.

Artemis II:n on tarkoitus tippua noin kello 3.47 Tyyneen valtamereen, Yhdysvaltojen länsirannikon edustalle, lähelle San Diegoa. Artemis II jysähtää maan ilmakehän lävitse jopa 40 000 kilometrin tuntinopeudella.

Laskeutumista pidetään yhtenä avaruuslennon vaarallisimmista vaiheista, sillä nopeudet ovat suuria ja kaiken on toimittava virheettömästi.

Artemis II-Orion kapseli on noin yli 33 000 mailin päässä maapallosta, joka vastaa noin 53 108 kilometriä.
